Skydance Paramount will begin mass layoffs during the week starting 27 October, removing approximately 2,000 positions in the United States under a cost-cutting plan totaling $2bn under CEO David Ellison.
These job cuts come after the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized during August worth $8.4bn.
Additional global layoffs are likely, with the company aiming to announce all specifics in its third-quarter financial update on 10 November.
Previous updates stated the company was looking to cut from 2,000 to 3,000 jobs by early November.
By December 2024, the organization employed nearly 18,600 full- and part-time employees plus 3,500 project-based staff.
