Helicopter Spins Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Popular Southern California Coast
A helicopter flying near a crowded coastal coastline abruptly began spiraling wildly, eventually descending rapidly and smashing into a cluster of palm fronds as spectators watched.
Footage uploaded online show the helicopter commencing to spiral near Huntington Beach then falling in the direction of the perimeter of the shore, where it gets stuck between palms and a set of stairs adjacent to the coastal road.
Emergency Response Information
The Huntington Beach fire department reported five individuals were rushed to the hospital involving two who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the accident on Saturday.
Three individuals on the road were injured. Information on their condition were still under review.
What led to the incident was still under investigation.
